21 Philips video wall displays were used to create a 3×3 screen and a 4×3 screen. Each screen was mounted onto a pop-out bracket and daisy chained with DVI cables. The content was controlled and updated remotely from a Windows media player running embed.
At the time of installation, video walls were by far the best solution available. Fast-forward a couple of years and this is not the case. LED screens are fast becoming, if not already, the go-to option for large displays thanks to many benefits, with some being listed below. The drastic drop in price is also a huge benefit and now in some cases makes LED cheaper than video walls, therefore being the most cost-effective solution.
Absen A275 1.5mm pixel pitch panels were chosen to create a 6×6 screen and a 8×6 screen, where they are daisy chained with power and data. The dimensions of the new screens are almost an exact match using 84 LED panels.
After installing some additional hardware, each screen benefits from 4 inputs, PIP options and audio, which is all controlled from an easy to use touchscreen, running embed. The space can now be used to inform, educate, entertain and through video conferencing and casting hardware, arrange and hold meetings.
Even when using the slimmest bezel possible, each video wall display is still noticeable. LED benefits from a modular concept that fit together to offer a truly seamless canvas with no disruption to the content.
If, and when, a video wall display goes faulty you could potentially lose a large section or your screen. However, a pixel failure with LED is less catastrophic and usually goes unnoticed by the untrained eye.
Over time, like any LCD display, the colours will fade and in a video wall become inconsistant. Thanks to batch production and intense testing, LED guarentees unifrom and accurate colour representation.

Google is taking Digital Signage very seriously of late. Their Chrome browser and OS offers multiple digital signage services with a name you know and trust. From media players and devices to digital signage software and its own chrome device management platform, Chrome has every aspect of Digital Signage covered… so let’s take a look at it in a bit more detail:
BENEFITS OF CHROME FOR DIGITAL SIGNAGE
Chrome devices run Chrome OS, which is designed by Google. The digital signage focused devices range from small dongle types to 24/7 commercial grade media players and all in one touch screen solutions, all of which guarantee:
Starts in seconds and gets faster over time, allowing you to focus on getting things done.
Built in encryption, sandboxing and automatic updates give all chrome devices high quality security.
Chrome devices are built from ground up with speed, reliability and simplicity at their core, providing unmatched uptime and security for signage deployments.
CHROME DEVICES FOR DIGITAL SIGNAGE
Chromeboxes are sleek, compact devices that are suitable for digital signage and kiosks. We recommend the use of AOPEN Chromeboxes due to their 24/7 design – the only Chromeboxes on the market designed specifically with digital signage in mind.
Chromebases are simple all-in-one touch devices perfect for kiosks or POS displays.
Chromebits allow you to turn any screen into an digital sign. These devices, although not commercial grade, provide a great entry level option to those on a budget that may already have displays in place.
Using Chrome Device Management, an administrator of a G Suite account can manage and configure more than 200 features and polices on Chrome devices. User, device and network settings can be pre-configured to a Chrome device or remotely configured from the control panel. These settings can be applied to the entire organisation and all of its chrome devices or specific settings can be set for individual devices.
Chrome sign builder is an entry level, basic digital signage app that allows users to schedule and display URL’s.
Web content such as menus, images, YouTube videos, playlists and Google presentations can be scheduled to play for specific times or all day for a set number of days. You configure the builder once in the initial setup and then you proceed to create schedules and specify the URLs for the content.
The Chrome sign builder can be downloaded and installed on any Chrome device or any other computer with a Chrome browser from the Chrome web store.
The Fully Loaded…
embed signage is a cloud based digital signage software with heaps of features. They are also Google Cloud Chrome Technology Partners too, a status only given to businesses that create products that complement, enhance, or extend the reach / functionality of Google Cloud products.
The feature rich software allows users to create multi-zoned, multi-media layouts that can be scheduled to play at certain times of the day, days of the week, specific dates and even weather conditions. The meeting room is an area of high importance. It’s the point of first impressions, the place of making or breaking of deals, and a garden of productivity.
The aim of this post is to showcase just some of the AV opportunities available to make your meeting room as productive and impressionable as possible. Here are some of our key ingredients…
The Room-Sharking Repellant.
I’m sure most people can relate to the annoyance of either having no meeting rooms available or having someone linger outside and barge into your room mid-presentation. Room Booking software and meeting room displays combat this.
Room booking screens combat room-sharking allowing clear identification of free space from a distance. Green its free, red its booked. Certain Room Booking displays also offer external status LED’s that you can’t miss. The Reserva solution also offers on-the-fly booking via touchscreen.
Intelligent Room booking software allows two-way communication between not only the built-in online calendar, but can integrate with existing Office 365, Exchange, Scientia and Micros Opera accounts.
A Reserva summary display showing all up and coming meetings is a great addition for any reception or communal area.
The Hybrid Display
Digital Signage and Presentation Display… at the same time. Your brand ethos can be reenforced through digital signage internal communications. Push the latest company news and achievements to staff and visitors.
Plug your laptop or tablet via HDMI to present to present on the big screen. This set-up allows for the presentation to be contained in a chosen zone allowing for important additional content to be displayed at all times. Creating a live, interactive experience. Live TV or IPTV broadcasts can be implemented into your signage to create powerful, up-to-date information.
The Future of Whiteboards
Start with a blank canvas or draw, highlight and edit over presentations on the fly. Providing the ability to visually display and explore new ideas. Both CleverTouch and Samsung both offer premium interactive whiteboard solutions in a range of capability and sizes.
Gone are the days of Easels and Flipcharts, were photos would need to be taken to distrubute the contents to participants. CleverTouch whiteboards allow documents, presentations and edits can be quickly shared via the whiteboards own email address.
Simple just got more simple.
9 in 10 office workersexperience technology-related stress in meetings.
